Roleo, a personal AI career agent founded by Veriff co-founder Janer Gorohhov and former Wise engineer Vahur Hansen, raised 2.9 million euros to expand across Europe to help tech professionals discover career opportunities without the need to actively search or apply for jobs.
Practica Capital led the round, with participation from Nordic VC Inventure.
“We saw potential in the Roleo founders – their proven operational experience and grounded, yet very high ambition. They came with a clear short-term plan and a long-term vision that’s easy to relate to. Leading this round was a natural fit for us, and we believe they are the team best positioned to set a new standard for how people build their careers,” Donatas Keras, Partner at Practica Capital, said in the statement.
The funding will support Roleo’s development of its AI career agent, designed to help people manage their careers throughout their working lives, and a European expansion to bring the service to more people.
"Most people spend years building their careers, but only actively manage them when something goes wrong or they decide it is time for a change. Meanwhile, great opportunities come and go, often without the right people ever hearing about them," said Janer Gorohhov, co-founder and CEO of Roleo.
"We want to build something that stays with you throughout your career, learns what matters to you, and helps you make better decisions over time. The goal isn't to have AI make career decisions for people, but to make sure they have the right information and opportunities when those decisions matter," he said.
Until now, tracking opportunities has meant monitoring job boards, maintaining professional networks, and staying visible to potential employers.
Roleo says it changes this by giving every tech professional a free personal AI career agent that works in the background. The service learns about each user's experience, professional goals, salary expectations, and preferences, then monitors opportunities across the European technology sector to identify roles worth considering. When there is a potential match, Roleo can connect the candidate directly with a hiring manager without the candidate submitting a job application.
Since the beginning of 2026, Roleo’s agent has connected its users with 30,000 career opportunities they explored further. The platform evaluates hundreds of thousands of potential opportunities every week, typically selecting the three most relevant for each user.
Roleo's user base already includes people from leading technology companies such as Google, Amazon, Stripe and Spotify, demonstrating demand for a service that supports career development even among professionals who are not actively looking for a new position.
Unlike traditional job boards, which require candidates to search and apply, Roleo builds an understanding of what each individual wants from their career. This includes not only their skills and previous roles, but also their expectations around compensation, flexibility, responsibilities, and future development. Users remain in control of their visibility, personal information, and whether they wish to pursue a particular opportunity.
For employers, Roleo provides a way to reach qualified professionals who may not be actively applying for jobs but would consider the right opportunity. Instead of sifting through large volumes of applications or sending unsolicited messages, hiring managers can connect with people whose experience and expectations align with the position.
Roleo's European expansion will focus initially on technology professionals and companies, a market the founding team knows from building and scaling international businesses.
In addition to Practica Capital and Inventure, Roleo has attracted backing from technology entrepreneurs and investors including Bolt founder Markus Villig, Sergei Anikin, Henrik Bohman, Kristina Lilleõis, and Lemonade Stand.
