**TALLINN** — The Estonian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (EstVCA) has tapped Kärt Klein as head of the organisation from September, taking over from [Madis Lehtmets](https://fomo.observer/author/madis/), who ran the operations for the last two years.

Klein brings a comprehensive background spanning community management, foreign direct investment, and venture capital to her new role in Tallinn.

"The Estonian private equity and venture capital fund market has grown into a comprehensive and mature ecosystem today, and as the head of its representative organisation, I will focus on strengthening cooperation between market participants and the state, as well as increasing the attractiveness and credibility of the local capital market in the eyes of international entrepreneurs and investors," Klein said in a statement.

After managing the LIFT99 community from 2019 to 2021, she worked with BuildIT and Change Ventures before taking the role of Deputy Head of Global Business Development at EIS (2023–2025), where Klein facilitated vital foreign direct investment initiatives, specifically driving capital from Denmark and Southern Europe into Estonian cleantech, wind energy, and defence sectors.

Klein starts in September, but she has already led the [Baltic VCA Summit](https://www.balticvcasummit.com/?ref=fomo.observer), which takes place next week in Haapsalu.

A few years ago, the Baltic VCA Summit was held in Pärnu.
