TALLINN - R[ollo Robotics](http://1rollo.com/?ref=fomo.observer), a deep-tech startup, is developing a stable autonomous monowheel security robot, claiming it has mastered the “stability paradox” of the monowheel. Why have ‘wheels’ when you can just have ‘wheel’?

“Mastering the physics of a stable monowheel is a milestone for autonomous mobility and the entire robotics sector,” said [Sander Sebastian Agur, ](https://www.linkedin.com/in/sandersebastian/?ref=fomo.observer)co-founder of Rollo Robotics.

Emerging from stealth, post-investment, Rollo Robotics was co-founded in Tallinn by Agur and Arno Kütt, both from Clevon, which was acquired by IndiGO Technologies in 2025\. If anyone is going to know about putting a robot on one wheel, it’s these guys.

The pre-seed round of €2.2 million was led by Berlin-based FoodLabs, Frontier Tech VC PROTOTYPE, and supported by a €1.5 million grant from Enterprise Estonia’s RUP programme. The fuel injection will see the ‘maturing Rollo’s proprietary gyroscopic stabilisation technology and transitioning the company from advanced R&D towards full-scale commercial production.’

### **The why?**

So what is on top of this monowheel? Not just about making wheels work, Rollo has developed a security robot. Balancing on one wheel, the robot ‘offers a slim, agile profile capable of navigating tight urban spaces and complex industrial corridors where traditional robots fail’.

The aim? “To make autonomous patrolling more cost-efficient, less intrusive, and significantly more versatile by creating a modern robotic platform,” says Agur.

### **Estonian engineering**

“Rollo Robotics is a prime example of the world-class engineering coming out of Estonia,” said Julius Strauss of FoodLabs.

> “Arno and Sander have identified a massive efficiency gap in the security sector. We are proud to support them as they mature this monowheel platform and prepare for mass production.”

From Tallinn to Las Vegas - Rollo Robotics was seen moving it’s way through the crowds at CES last week.
